How to Choose the Right Size Outdoor Lighting

When it comes to outdoor lighting, there are many factors to consider, from the type of space to the design of the light fixtures. For example, if you want to hang an outdoor chandelier over a table, multiply the width of the table by 0.5. This will give you a light fixture that is approximately two and a half times the width of the table. Then, multiply that by two or three to get a light that fits over the table.

Firstly, think about the style of your building. Modern-looking lighting is not going to look good on a traditional-style building, so choose a design that matches it. You may prefer to choose darker, warmer, or neutral colors if you have a modern-style building. The latter style is also good if you want to give a traditional look to your outdoor lighting. But this style may not be appropriate for all homes, so you need to think about the size of the property and the number of people who will be walking or playing around it.

If you have a small space, a smaller outdoor light fixture will do. For a traditional-styled light, multiply the door height by one-fourth. If you want a more bombastic look, you can multiply the height by one-third. For larger outdoor lights, adjust the math accordingly. You can then use this math to determine how big your outdoor light fixtures should be. You can even use a calculator to determine the size you should use for the space available.
